The Thurlow was produced by Thurlow & Co in Wimbledon, London (UK). A prototype of the vehicle had appeared in 1914, but production did
not start until after the first world war in 1920.
The Thurlow was powered by a 10hp V-twin Precision engine. This drove a chain to a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer gearbox providing drive via belts to the front wheels. Unlike a number of vehicles at the time the engine could be started from the driver's seat as the starter was connected to the exhaust valves which were automatically lifted during the first half of the lever's travel. Production of the Thurlow ceased in 1921.
