Lemnos, Greece. (Myrina Castle)

Photos taken with WQV-3

I took an afternoon off sailing, water skiing, volley ball etc etc to wander into the Capital “Myrina”. The first thing thats stand out for miles is the huge  11th century castle built on top of a mountain. It was quite a climb but at the top the views were breath taking.

On the way to Myrina I passed a Military base that stated “No Photographs”. On this occassion I obeyed the rules!!

The sign for Myrina

Two shots of the Port in Myrina.

Havn’t a clue what this sign says .. it all looks greek to me!!

The arrow sign pointing UP to the castle meant just that!!

Castle remains with parts dating back as long ago as 1200

Entrance to the castle.

Fantastic views three-quarters way up.

The Summit along with the reward of reaching it. Superb views for miles in every direction included Mount Athos in mainland Greece.
